The goal of the AIESEC Alumni Switzerland summer event is to bring alumni from all over Switzerland together for a relaxed occasion to network and reconnect. We are planning to organize this event every year around July or August.
This year we met at the Restaurant Schwellenmätteli in Bern, which is located directly at the river Aare. Twenty five alumni met on this sunny and hot afternoon on August 19th.

The board of AIESEC Alumni Switzerland presented future events and chances for involvement. An example is the mentorship programme that has been launched. The members of the national board of AIESEC in Switzerland is already enjoying this programme. Now we would like to encour-age more alumni to support active members.
Another opportunity are the two topic related alumni groups around NGOs and entrepreneurship.

Also we started to collect money (also the small coins!!) for the AIESEC Alumni Switzerland Fund. This fund shall support AIESEC projects. At the moment we are collecting money to help AIESEC Lugano to finance a member from AIESEC Italy to come for six weeks to Lugano to start up the internship sales and to train LC members in the area of incoming exchange. The Local Committee in Lugano has suffered from a big membership and therefore knowledge loss over the last years and was close to being closed last year. Now they are starting from scratch and need every support possible. They have handed in a good application for the fund and we decided to support it with maximum 5000 swiss francs. At the moment we collected around 900 swiss frances. If you would like to contribute as well please feel free to make your donation on the homepage of AIESEC Alumni Switzerland or put some coins in our red piggy banks that will be on every regional group first Thursdays event. The attendees of the summer event feeded them very well! A big thank you to all the attendeed for that from the board!
We hope that everybody enjoyed the event to the fullest and hope that we see you (and many oth-ers) again at one of the next events!

AIESEC Alumni at The Hub Event
On 12th May about thirty Alumni and current members of AIESEC Switzerland came together at The Hub in Zurich for an afternoon full of catching up and sharing experiences. After Michel Bach-mann, AIESEC St. Gallen Alumnus and Co-founder of The Hub Zurich, gave us a presentation and tour of the venue, two AIESEC Alumni, Giancarlo Schwendener and Duane Raymon, shared their experiences they made both within the network and since becoming Alumni. A nice apéro and din-ner at the restaurant Zeughauskeller rounded off the event.
Spending this day getting the know new friends, reconnecting with old ones and learning something while doing so was great. We would like to thank all Alumni and current members who joined this event and are looking forward to next year’s edition.

One of the aims of AIESEC Alumni Switzerland is to support the active AIESECers. The board was doing so by delivering four sessions at the Team to Team transition of the Member Committee. We were very pleased to get to know the new team and are looking forward to work together with them!

With great pleasure several alumni delivered sessions in the team to team transition of the member committee of AIESEC in Switzerland, focused on swiss culture, general history and the history of AIESEC in Switzerland. Additionally alumni relations were discussed and focus areas set for the next year. The MC and the LCs will focus on internal Alumni Engagement Processes, whereas AIESEC Alumni Switzerland will focus on building up the network and engage more and more alumni on different levels.
Thanks to the experience of the international MC members in their home countries, we received many inputs for our work here in Switzerland. Many things will take still some time to be fully in place, like the Board of Advisors for the LCs. Other things are in the process already, such as the alumni track at DO-IT.

Also we have started a mentorship programme for the current members of the Member Committee by the alumni. Every teammember has a personal mentor with which they are already in contact or planning to get in touch soon.
We have already received several mentoring and coaching requests from LCs, therefore we would highly appreciate if more alumni would sign up on the mentoring database of AIESEC in Switzer-land, to ensure that we can provide mentors and coaches to all mentees.
If you have any questions to the mentoring programme, please contact Patrick Siffert (partick.siffert@nullaiesecalumni.ch) If you would like to be a mentor or coach, please sign up on the database (www.aiesec.ch/mentor)

In the long-term project of reconnecting with the alumni of Geneva and of Suisse Romande, we organized a summer event in the beautiful and sunny Geneva on the 7th of July. It started at Halles de l’Ile and ended up at the Tropical Corner in front of the Leman lake. Around 20 alumni and goldies from Geneva, Lausanne and Bern were present.

Because of the success of the event, we plan to renew it for the next coming years. Once again, we thank all the people who participated to our event and hope that the one who did not come, will be present next year. Don’t hesitate to contact Lucy and Karthik (Contact form) for any further information and for joining us at our alumni drinks!

AIESEC in Switzerland: Introducing the MC 2012/2013

The Member Committee 2012/2013 has started its term on July 1st this year. Eight people from eight countries and three continents will lead AIESEC in Switzerland together. We asked them what they think about alumni. To get to know their answers, please follow this link.

Not only is AIESEC in Switzerland one of the oldest members of AIESEC internationally, but also one of the most culturally diverse as a nation. I don’t think any one country better exemplifies the mission of AIESEC than Switzerland, and I am both honoured and extremely excited to be able to work with you all and see how this organization has lived the AIESEC experience for over 50 years.
Martin (VP Business Development, Bulgaria/Macedonia)

Alumni are the best examples of the impact AIESEC is creating. I am looking forward to working and spending more time with alumni of AIESEC in Switzerland.
Tania (VP Career Days, Ukraine)

I am feeling lucky to have the amazing opportunity to work with the most distinguished Alumni network of an AIESEC country I have ever encountered. I am truly looking forward to taking the best out of your know-hows with hopes that I can bring value to the relationships as well.
Peter (VP Talent Management, Canada)

I’m really happy to work and share with Alumni. It brings a broad view and understanding of the reality plus it is always fun to know about their experiences and the challenges they faced back in other times. These stories can always be used as an example and their career inspired us to be better and take this year as a platform for my future… today is the first day of the rest of our lives.
Miguel (VP Outgoing Exchange, Venezuela/Switzerland)

The first weeks have already been great and very supportive from the Alumni side. There is so much to discover and find out and I am very much looking forward to spending more time with alumni in the future
Theresia (President, Germany/Switzerland)

Working with closely with alumni will not only help us to perform better and not repeat mistakes that might have been done before. But personal coaching by alumni will also help us as individuals to grow stronger. This is a personal goal for me, and I’m looking forward to learning from our alumni.
Hanna (VP Finance, Switzerland)

I am honoured and excited to have as responsibilities for the next year the Alumni Relations as well. I look forward to working with the people who have brought AIESEC in Switzerland to the point where it is now and who will contribute to take it to the next level together with our Leadership Body and our members.
Oana (VP Communication, Rumania)

I am very glad that we have such a great group of Alumni permanently supporting all the MC team maily in strategic direction of our organization. As a business oriented person I always appreciate external advice, feedback, experience shared and also the business approach that helps us being more professional and recognized on the market.
Misha (VP Incoming Exchange, Slovakia)

Upcoming events: DO-IT conference young alumni and alumni track

Later this year we would like to invite you to the annual national conference of AIESEC in Switzerland. We will prepare a Young Alumni Track, starting on Friday afternoon, and an Alumni track starting on Saturday at noon.

We are very happy to announce to you that we will be delivering an alumni and young alumni track at the next national conference of AIESEC in Switzerland.
The Young Alumni Track is part of the Young Alumni Program. It is specially designed for members with previous team leading experience that are about to leave the organization (some of you might know this stage as “heading for the future” stage) The purpose is to give the participants an opportunity to reflect on their experience and learning’s, to build a vision for their future life and come up with ideas how to reach this vision. Of course the fun part of a conference will be an essential part too!! This track will start on Friday at around noon, and will be merged on Saturday afternoon with the alumni track.

The alumni track will start on Saturday afternoon, giving the delegates a platform to reconnect with each other and a presentation about AIESEC Alumni Switzerland and of course joining the AIESEC party in the evening. On Sunday morning we will enjoy a relaxed brunch together and meet with the current active AIESECers for a experience sharing session.

The exact agenda for both tracks will be published together with the agenda of the other tracks. We will post constant updates about both of the tracks on our Facebook page and the homepage.
